I have a dream …

dreaming

I have a dream

In my dreams I dream of a place

Existing beyond the dimensions of both time and place

A place where actions don’t have consequences

And the choices don’t have repercussions

A place to which alone, no one can travel

Yet there exists a way

A place where there’s no more suffering

And there’s no more pain and affliction

A place where death doesn’t reside

Where tears are never shed

And no one ever bleeds

A place where we will neither marry,

Nor be given in marriage,

But we’ll be like the angels

Where the family never gets hungry

Where nobody ever get sick

And the bodies never get weak

Where no children are born

Where nobody ever gets old

And the weather never gets cold

Yes, I have heard of a place

Where there is no sun

No moon and no sky

A place where there is no darkness or night

A place where everything is bright

And the ruler is the source light

Help me out; I’m looking for that place!

Where all that dwells is peace

And everyone’s heart is at ease

Who knows of that place?

Where the sun never gets hot

And the rivers never get dry

Where no one ever gets thirsty

And the weather never gets nasty

And the life is never hasty

Who has heard of that place?

That is governed by a spiritual rule

And only the spiritual beings dwell

Tell me, I want to know of that place

Where the Most high has established his throne

And the heavenly beings sing all day

Yes, I wanna know the means

Show me the way to that place

Point me to that direction

Let my lips taste of its water

Let my nose smell of its air

And my feet dance of it music

Let my eyes see of its splendor

Let my fingers touch of it flowers

So soft and so tender

Show me how

How to get this skeptical mind of mine to believe

And let my treacherous heart to perceive

How to get this doubting brain to conceive

How to let this trembling spirit to receive

That place; that we cannot imagine what it’ll be like,

That place; that it will exceed our expectations.

That place; that will be revealed to each of us in glory

  1. The very best part of this dream is that it will be reality for his children upon completion of their given tasks. I share this dream and hunger for its fulfillment but God is good in so many ways because he sustains us in our wait by gifting us slivers of paradise. Those who are gifted by these slivers may not recognize them and miss his blessing. It is seen in the smile of a newborn, a delicate flower blooming among choking weeds, the first drops of rain on a thirst starved land, the strength of a father or mother providing for their child, the morning song of the birds, and that glorious moment when you see the melting of a fellow sinner’s heart in submission to Christ. Those are only the slivers that most people take for granted or cannot see but there are certainly grand examples of how paradise is reflected here on Earth. The important thing for all of us is to recognize them, embrace them, and allow them to help sustain us in the darkness threatening to consume all. Until the day this dream is realized, I pray God continues to reveal all reflections of paradise to provide strength, joy, and hope. May he richly bless your words, your work, and your soul as you lead others to the Savior.

    • Blessing Tina. I can’t wait to see how it will look like. its streets, the angels, the old testament saints, the imagination is just endless. What ices it up is the knowledge that the word is clear that “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Cor 2:9) and I’m left speechless…
