Make you proud!

A young girl plays on a bridge over a stream of raw sewage, in the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya, Wednesday May 27, 2009. Kibera, which houses almost one million people, is the largest slum in Africa, and one of the biggest in the World. It has only two main water pipes, and in most of the slum there are no toilet facilities, with one hole-in-the ground latrine being shared by up to 50 shacks. (AP Photo/Karel Prinsloo)

If one man can really change the world

I beg that you grant me the muscles to stand up bold

The wisdom to stand out of the crowd

Let me be the man to spread the word

Let the message of truth be told

Let it be the foundation from which our livelihood is build

Let it be the cord through which my breed is fed

Let it be the conduit by which their thirst is quenched

Let it be the medium that this greed is bruised

Let their intellect be freed from the chains from which they’re bound

Let their minds be freed and freed indeed

Let it change their idealism with this poetic sound

Let them be lifted from the ground from which they stand!

Let it hit them right before they ask “are they really from around?”

Let it be that I am heard, perceived and understood

Let it be that when all is said and done, I’ll have made you proud
