Early in the morning, the bell from the mosque could be heard ringing

And just like any other day the sun rose in early in the morning

It was visible on the mountain top projecting

You could hear the sweet sound of the birds on treetops singing

The matatus and the buses were loudly hooting

The conductors seeking commuters could be heard yelling

In the boulevards kids headed for school in their uniform were visible

The milkman had just passed by on his way to the dairy

The smell of cooking mandazis was oozing from the cookery

Shopkeepers were getting ready for the day

Mr. Jackson was actually sweeping his outdoor walkway

It was then that she learnt that you were on the way

The ending of the trailing nine months journey

Off we drove to the infirmary

I’ll spare you the details and cut off the lengthy story

At 8:20 am bouncing baby boy was born

Welcome to the world son!
